Free Medical Camps

Every year IHDF (and BHDI in Bangladesh) delivers free medical camps to the most needy. Our team of medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists and other professionals tour the country to deliver relief camps free of charge.

Free Medical Clinics

This project aims to provide free access to medical services for the rural community of Asia & Africa. We run monthly clinics in 3 locations with plans to expand into other locations in the coming months. You can get regular updates on Insta & Linkedin.

Maternity Services

We provide specialist and dedicated maternity care, to the most vulnerable. These are also available during our medical camps and monthly free medical clinics. Giving expectant mothers a peace of mind, during theer maternity cycle. Where required we also carry out referrals.

Training & Prevention Programme

We are training the next batch of first aiders to be the first respondents during an emergency. We also run prevention programmes which include advising youngsters on the importance of safe drinking water and sanitation.

Nursing College (Sylhet)

The nursing college project is an important endeavor to help reduce the acute shortage of quality nursing staff in Bangladesh. This is a very ambitious project which requires a tactical response. We have been working the Sylhet Womens Nursing College for several years.

Dengue Fever Campaign

Our Dengue campaign provides information, advice and preventative measures. We have had cases in 2019 (around 20,000 people, mainly children), in 2020, with the biggest rise in 2023. Our aim has been to provide equipment & advice to try help stop the spread of the disease.

Health Videos

We have released a number of videos in English and in Bengali (with other languages to follow) provide guidance to all on how to protect against infectious diseases were possible. This includes video content discussing Covid (Radio, TV and Facebook Live), and food distribution.

Covid Corner

Covid Corner is IHDF’s response to the international pandemic. We have setup a number of projects to help both the UK and Bangladesh. We provide protective equipment for both medical staff and for our visitors, to ensure a safe working and health environment for all.

Helping patients to help themselves (& Zakat)

We have distributed over £25k in zakat distribution, this ranges from project related activities to providing funding (directly) for medical treatment, healthy & sustainable living programmes or sustenance.

The individuals are guided on expenditure, but ultimately they control the decision – this is empowerment. We provide readily accessible assistance once a decision is made.

Want to join our next Free Medical Tour?

We are looking for volunteers to join us during the first 2 weeks of February 2025 to deliver free medical camps across Bangladesh & Ghana.

This will be our 4th international free medical camps tour! We hold monthly medicals clinics across 3 semi-permanent locations.

We see an average of over 400+ patients per medical camp, visit around 4 to 5 locations per tour and ensure we have local medical professionals working alongside our teams.

So if you are looking for a fulfilling 5 or 10 days deployment, serving some of poorest people globally, with your free time or expertise, we want to hear from you.

We organise accommodation, local travel, food etc upon arrival into the designated country, in return we ask you to agree to certain conditions such as minimum fund raising targets and international travel costs (subsidised based on target reached) etc.

Whatever your profession, whatever your skill, we need volunteers – these free medical tours wouldn’t be the same without YOU!

Bangladesh Floods Campaign 2024


Did you know?

 

During the devastating 2024 floods that hit Bangladesh, we held 11 clinics, including Feni, Noakhali and Laxmipur, with each camp seeing an average of 700+ people. This was done with the assistance & co-ordination of Donate for Good.

 

These ran throughout the day, providing free essential medical review and also free medication where appropriate.


We anticipate we will conduct follow up reviews with some of these patients during our medical tour – travel time permitting.
