We have operated as BHDI in Asia (Bangladesh) and are now expanding to Africa (Ghana).
What We Do
We work with UK healthcare professionals and volunteers to help alleviate the medical services needs of the poorest.
Our marquee project is the annual Bangladesh medical tour with British Bangladeshi doctors, nurses and other professionals to deliver free medical camps in rural Bangladesh. We are now looking to take our free medical camps to Ghana.
Some key facts and figures are provided across our sites, these include seeing (and in some cases treating or referring) over 12000+ patients, performing 1300+ cataract operations and advising 100+ expectant mothers.
Our 100% donation policy means, that we do not use any money you have personally donated for other activities. Our volunteers offer their free time whilst for administration (promotion etc), we use the Gift Aid funds.
We have strict guidelines on zakat, where we are following the ruling that money should have handed over to those who have been assessed (as eligible) in order to make their own determination. Read more in the Projects section.

We provide specialist and separate/allocated room for maternity care, to the most vulnerable.

Dealing with preventative actions allows us to get to some of the root causes before health ailments develop.
Our Team
Our team are volunteers offering their free time. We are made up of medics, nurses, pharmacists, lawyers, IT professionals, accountants and many more.....all dedicated to providing basic healthcare to the needy.
